Description
On August 28, 1952, an accident occurred when its hull was struck by the Tug Arkansas. The ship was being unloaded at Conneaut, Ohio, and the Tug Arkansas, which had attached its towline to the steamer and was lying under the starboard quarter, moved ahead and struck the steamer's hull, coming in contact with one of the propeller blades. The collision caused a dent covering an area of about 18 inches, with its fullest depth of 1½ inch. The cost of repairs was estimated at $150.00.

During August of 1971 while underway in the Welland Canal her steering gear failed and she struck a wall, severely damaging her bow. Though repairs were done at Port Weller Drydocks, her career came to an end at the close of navigation, in December of 1971.

Sold for scrap Dec 1971 to Marine Salvage Ltd., Port Colborne, Ontario. Renamed Thoro (to allow use of former name for another vessel). Scrapped at Port Colborne in 1972.
