Description
Requisitioned in 1940 for service during World War II, off-lakes. The ship returned to service on the lakes in 1947.

On September 24, 1947 the Milverton was involved in a collision with Translake while downbound in the St. Lawrence River above Morrisburg, Ontario; with a load of coal. Oil from the Translake flowed over the steam engine, sparking an explosion and fire. Eleven sailors aboard the Milverton were lost. The Milverton was refloated in the summer of 1948 and moved to Port Weller, Ontario in April 1949; for repair.
