This was my second ship as an officer, I sailed on her for 14 months from 1985 to 1986. Unfortunately she didn’t visit the Great Lakes during my tenure aboard, though she had visited on the voyage before in 1984. My first voyage to the lakes had to wait until 2002 on the Mackenzie, later to be renamed the Birchglen.
