This morning around 00:30 the westbound tanker Chem Hydra ran aground immediately east of the Cote Ste. Catharine lock. The tugs Ocean Intrepide and Ocean Pierre Julien were dispatched to assist in refloating the stricken ship. Around 20:00 she was refloated and towed through the lock then secured along the east end of the Cote Ste. Catherine wharf. The Seaway remained closed for the day while the salvage operation was undertaken.
