Description
On October 30th 1979, during a voyage from New York City to Boston, a fire broke out in the engine room at around 15:00; approximately two miles off Manomet Point in Cape Cod Bay. The crew were unable to extinguish the fire and were safely evacuated. After the fire was put out, an attempt was made to tow the tug to Boston, but it subsequently sank.
