Description
Marine News - Lost engine power on 18 May 2009 and reported a flooded engine room when about 30 miles east of Cape Agulhas, South Africa. Taken in tow by the salvage tug SMIT AMANDLA for Cape Town and held in a position about 34 miles off Robben Island, South Africa where the flooding was brought under control on 24 May. She was on a passage from the Far East for Abidjan, Ivory Coast with 20,500 tonnes of bagged rice.

Arrived Cape Town, South Africa in tow and found to be beyond economical repair. Sold to Navamosa Navigation S.A. (DTA Ship Trading LLC) of St. Kitts & Nevis and resold to Indian shipbreakers. Left on 15 September 2009 in tow of the tug SALVALIANT and beached at Alang on 30 October 2009.
