Description
Enlarged in 1973 from 171.6m (10411gt/12683dw), including accommodation for containers.

Delivered to the Maritime Administration on July 29, 1982 and laid up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet (NDRF), Suisun Bay, Benicia, California. On September 11, 1982 the ship was transferred to NDRF James River, Lee Hall, Virginia. Converted to a crane ship in 1983-1984 at Bay Shipbuilding, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin and placed in service as SS Keystone State on May 7, 1984. Assigned to the Military Sealift Command, Ready Reserve Force.
