Description
While loading bulk material at Matarani, Peru on 31 January 1983 she suffered a serious engine room fire. She began taking on water, possibly as a result of firefighting operations and was subsequently towed away from the loading berth. Several days later, on 5 February 1983 she sank northwest of the breakwater at Matarani.
